Rembrandt Lighting
In Rembrandt lighting, one side of the face is well-lit, and the other is typically darkened. It’s most well defined by the presence of a lightened triangle below the eye on the darker side of the face.
Rembrandt lighting is used to make portraits seem more dramatic.
The light should be held at a 45º angle above the subject’s face and 2 feet behind the camera to create the triangle effect.

Critique
My favorite photo was in split lighting with the graffiti wall backdrop. My eyes are immediately drawn to the center of the nose where the light cuts off. If I could improve it, I would use harder light to create more of a contrast in the shadows.
